Building on the successful Erasmus+ Sport project MOVE (see description below), the project MOVE ON (MOtivating patients to Voluntary physical Exercise Outside Nursing programmes, project number 101131324,) aims to develop innovative programmes at European level to motivate people to remain physically active on a regular basis after completing their medical and therapeutic treatment.
The organisations involved in the project are the same as in the MOVE project, namely the Fundação S. João de Deus in Lisbon, the Istituto San Giovanni di Dio in Rome, the Club Deportívo Purísima Concepcíon in Granda, the Hospital San Juan de Diós in Santa Cruz in Tenerife and the Lebenswelten Steiermark in Kainbach as project coordinator.
It is indeed of the utmost importance that former hospital patients and people, who have participated in physical activity rehabilitation programmes, exercise regularly and continuously in everyday life, especially outdoors and with other people.
During the development of the project, special attention is paid to Ukrainian refugees and mental health patients.
The project participants will, among other things, analyse and promote the most effective integration sport methods to engage and support Ukrainian citizens together with local residents, in an effort to help them overcome possible war and migration traumas.
Connected with the EU “HealthyLifeStyle4All” initiative and opening up to a wider range of beneficiaries, MOVE ON will design and implement an innovative “sport and health trail” including topics such as healthy habits, the quality of nutrition or the early detection of health problems.
The main project outputs are an informative sport guide with specific exercises and lots of useful tips and a protocol for trainers inside and outside the consortium with innovative transnational strategies to develop, manage and monitor regular physical activity programmes.
